M29 Weasel - CMK resin kit no. 8049 in 1/48 unveiled

   CMK offer you an all-resin model of M29 Weasel tracked vehicle in two scales. Besides the 1/72 model, there is also model no.8049 in 1/48 scale. Both models have been designed using a CAD and the master patterns were produced on a 3D printer. In a standard CMK box of the 1/48 Weasel you will find couple of resin casting blocks with all the model´s parts, a PE fret and a decal sheet for two US vehicles. Two page instruction sheet shows details of the assembly and camouflages.

   The assembly itself is fairly straightforward. On the main body only the resin seats, control levers and some other tiny details are to be attached. The PE parts to be used for the model is the front radiator grille and the windscreen frame. The latter were in fact quite often removed in field conditions.

   On photos below the result of such a build is shown. The model has been built straight out of box, the only improvements are some handles being made of a piece of wire, slight shape correction of the seats and a glass added to both of the lights. Tamiya paints were used and also Mig weathering products and CMK Star Dust pigments.
